In 2023 Lincoln G.O.L.D. was able to give a $2,000 scholarship to 40 outstanding students throughout Lincoln.

Lincoln G.O.L.D. seeks to support young leaders in Lincoln and the surrounding community. We do that by providing scholarships to students, both young men and women, graduating from a Lincoln-area public or private high school and attending a public or private Nebraska college. Each scholarship recipient will receive a one time $2,000 scholarship.

Eligibility

Applications will be scored using a point system. Although your GPA is important to us, we are looking for students that have more to offer than just grades. Along with academic assessment, our committee will focus on the areas of community service and athletics/activities, both in and outside of school. Demonstrating leadership in any of these areas will be scored higher than just participation in them. Lincoln G.O.L.D. Girls, past and present, are not eligible for this scholarship.

How Your Application Will Be Evaluated

An independent committee comprised of community leaders and teachers will evaluate, score and rank the applications. Committee members are not given names of individuals submitting applications.

Selection Process

Scholarships will be reviewed following the due date. All scholarship winners will be notified if they have received a scholarship by the specified date. Winners will be asked to sign a press release and submit an individual photo (senior photo or school photo recommended) within a week of accepting the scholarship. Additional details will be provided at the time of the zoom call.

This scholarship stood out to me because it gave me an opportunity to share my story. As an international student, I could not find many opportunities for me to earn a scholarship. However, Lincoln G.O.L.D. was willing to listen to my story unlike most of the scholarships that I could find in Lincoln. It definitely helped me gain confidence. I felt very supported going into college. The Lincoln G.O.L.D. Scholarship encouraged me to not give up and to keep trying and working hard to reach my goals. When I wasn’t sure about my decisions and felt like nobody could help me, getting this scholarship made me realize that I am not alone and people are recognizing my achievements and hard work.
